Dune 107.9’s Dave & Trev to MC JMF 2010

JMF Announcements, JMF General News 3 Comments

Dune 107.9 MC's

Two of Dune 107.9’s personalities – Dave “The Mighty” Quinn & “Tiny” Trevor Ford will be the compeers’ for this year’s festival. Here is a little more about the duo:

Dave Quinn

Where do I start ? I started my DJ career back in the 70s at Southport YMCA working with a local DJ, Derek Johnson, as his roadie. When he packed in I took over as DJ at the YMCA starting up Galaxy Disco with an old mate,Kevin Willis. Then Kevin found his lovely wife and I took Galaxy Disco to the next level doing weddings, twenty-firsts and similar, also pubs and nightclubs all over Merseyside.

Trevor and I have known each other for many, many years and worked with many Celebes such as Ronnie O’Sullivan, Steven Hendry, John Higgins, Ronnie Corbett and Russell Watson, to name but a few.

I have taken many jobs over the years from long distance heavy goods driver to car sprayer but always kept up the DJ work. We was on all the RSLs for Dune FM. My loves are my family, snooker, fishing, and Manchester Utd, Oh! And of course my radio work and the comparing I do now and then.

I started my current business back in 1992 and now have over 400 full time staff. I have a lovely family who are my life, MY best advice I can give anyone – as I always tell Trevor – is NEVER try to make a comeback if you’ve never been anywhere!

Trevor Ford

I joined Galaxy Disco as a roadie in the 80s id like to say I learned my trade from the best but he will only get big headed.then on it was in my blood to become an entertainer. When I reached 18 I was off to see the sights and become a blue coat on holiday parks, this continued for a few years and had the pleasure of being coached by Robbie Williams father Pete.

Unlike Dave I’m an Evertonian but I often go to old Trafford as Dave’s guest and I like the Pies lol. We are really happy to return to Dune 107.9 proving it really is a local station. The Mighty and I where born and bred in Sunny Southport and have known each other for over 25 yrs. We believe in having a good time and making people smile.

LFC.TV’s Vincent Hotel fundraiser publication

JMF General News No Comments

LFC.TV were kind enough to record the entire fundraiser which took place at The Vincent Hotel, and they even posted details on the club’s official website. A massive plus to serve the very purpose of the festival, and that’s raising awareness of sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) which effects a minimum of 12 fit and healthy people every week.

Alan & Mark were absolutely fantastic at entertaining the crowd, and we were delighted to have them come along. And of course a very special thank you to all who joined us on the evening, especially to those who donated so kindly to our newly found charity – “Vital Sounds Foundation”.
