About The Jedi Music Festival

Chris Haw

The Jedi Music Festival was created following the tragic and sudden death of Chris Haw, a very popular local young man who was studying for a management degree at Edge Hill University and a young man who adored his festival music. »

This festival is a tribute to him and also to raise awareness of the syndrome which took his life at the tender age of 25, Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). The Jedi Music Festival is a wholly independent event which is returning for its third year now, but, due to very popular demand this years event will be staged outdoors! It will deliver a unique feast of music set on a tranquil and beautiful site offering entertainment unlike any other festival in the northwest. Too see the line up, click here.

The date is confirmed as 1st August 2010 at Victoria Park, Southport, and the historical home of the famous Southport Flower Show.

As with previous years, the organisers Jedi Music Festival are keen to encourage festival goers to respect the local residents and the environment and to encourage everyone to leave their cars at home. The public transport system will bring you directly to the park with the rail network just a 5 minute walk from the park. If you have to bring your car to the festival then why not try the lift-share scheme? It will reduce traffic congestion to the festival, you can split the petrol costs between you, and it will help reduce your carbon footprint!
